Margareta Nilsson is one of Sweden's most established and prominent harpists. With a passion for the instrument and solid experience, she has taken a natural place on the Swedish music scene.

Margareta Nilsson received her degree from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm under the guidance of Christine Mühlbach. She then continued her studies in London with the world-renowned harpist Marisa Robles, after receiving a prestigious scholarship from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.

Over the years, Margareta Nilsson has worked with most of Sweden's and Norway's major orchestras. She has frequently collaborated with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Court Orchestra.

Margareta Nilsson regularly appears as a soloist and in various chamber music constellations. Since 2007, she, together with Eva Maria Hux, has enchanted thousands of listeners with the duo Duo Arlecchino. She is a versatile musician who moves freely between classical music, contemporary repertoire, and other genres, and has played at everything from fashion shows to major music festivals.

Margareta Nilsson also plays in Duo MarGente together with violinist Gentilia Pop. In this constellation, the sound worlds of the harp and violin meet in an intimate and atmospheric interplay that is excellently suited for both concerts and formal occasions.

From 2026, Margareta Nilsson teaches harp at Opus Norden. She is passionate about teaching and is already a highly sought-after educator who also gives lessons at Lilla Akademien in Stockholm and Uppsala Kulturskola.
